The Lake County Tourism & Business Relations Division recently unveiled an online coupon giveaway at www.lakecountyfl.com that is good for $10 off a stay at any participating hotel, bed & breakfast inn or vacation home located in Lake County, Fla.
“We wanted to give people from outside of Lake County and Florida the incentive to visit arguably one of the most naturally serene areas of Central Florida,” said Greg Mihalic, Director of Lake County Tourism & Business Relations Division. “Home to more than 1,000 freshwater lakes and rivers, Lake County has so much to offer with its charming hometowns and family festivals.”
To receive the $10 coupon, a guest must fill out a Web form and print the personalized coupon from www.lakecountyfl.com. The Web form requires participants to fill out their name, e-mail address, phone number and address. After filling out the Web form, guests are asked to subscribe to Lake County Tourism’s quarterly newsletter. Reproduced or photocopied coupons will not be honored.
In addition, the online coupon is expected to help spur a sagging tourism economy. Tourism tax revenue collected from 2008 to 2009 declined by 17.5 percent.
“We’re trying to address economic concerns, and this discount is an incentive for people to get up and visit Lake County,” Mihalic said.
